Cas grumbled something low before letting go of Loki’s hand and stepping forward to accept her challenge. She began to sing her melody again so he understood and the angel rolled his shoulders back.

He hummed it softly, but that only made her growl a bit and her eyes narrow….

Cas jumped lightly and looked over his shoulder to Loki, his cheeks a dark crimson still. He faced the Banshee again as she continued her song, it becoming more loud and feirce sounding. She wasn’t happy to be losing.

Cas sang the melody back, becoming a little more confident; his wings spread to try and appear dominant in front of the spirit. He watched as her body began to burn at the feet and her appearance turned grotesque once more.

Loki’s nose wrinkled as the old bat burned, her form disgusting.  He remained quiet though as he didn’t want to interrupt Castiel’s concentration and cause him to lose.

Nobody should lose to this ghost.

Cas continued the song while the Banshee sang against him until his voice was the stronger and she began to fade. The flames rushed up and turned her into complete ash. The competition was over- and thank freaking god Castiel won. 

The angel threw his head back and panted softly. “I- am never…singing…again..” 

Loki grinned proudly as he carefully wrapped his arms around Cas from behind, having to move around the wings as he held the other tightly to him, giving Cast he support if he needed it.

“Nonsense, you have an amazing voice.” He said quietly, still calmed by the music himself.

Cas’ wings spread as he came to a hault and heard the soft whines from down the hall near them. He held out his hand for Loki to take; just…

Cas faltered slightly. “I’m not going to wail to her…” he cleared his throat; “D-dont they sing to you and see if you react?” Though he thought alone he couldn’t sing- his brother certainly could, but hell if Cas’ voice wasn’t so hoarse; heh he would probably sound close to the lead singers to The Doors, but hell he never sang..so far that he knows in his existence he hasn’t.

Loki laughed gently as he squeezed Cas’ hand.  “What harm could it do?” He could get them out of any situation if he needed to.  He nudged Cas’ arm, “Just give it a try.”

Cas gave a sort of bitch face at Loki, but then completely turned to ice as the banshee stood in front of them appearing as a young elegant woman. She opened her mouth and a soft melody flowed out. 

The once angel felt a little lost in her voice. It wasn’t like her screaming- more osft and lullaby like…

He rolled his eyes at Cas’ face and was about to say something when the banshee appeared, looking different than before.  He glared at her suspiciously until she opened her mouth and started to sing.

Ah.

He nudged Cas, looking at him when he didn’t respond. “Cas.” He said, shaking the hand in his, “That’s her song.”

Cas faltered slightly. “I-I’m not singing, are you nuts?!” But the Banshee was facing him and singing the song to him. She was the one challenging him.

He sighed a little, “I don’t really think you have a choice Cas.  She’s eyein’ you up like she’s starving and you’re a prime rib steak.”
